Virginian modern rock outfit American Dream Machine formed just a year ago — and what a year it has been, one punctuated by violent protests and an ongoing pandemic, and pervaded by a decidedly apocalyptic vibe. The quartet's debut album, Deadhearts, was originally scheduled to drop early this summer, but the group has since pushed back its release amid all the chaos and discord to focus on singles and videos. The latest of these is "Dead," which is premiering right here right now. The song was inspired by a former bandmate who was wracked by addiction, and its video, filmed with director Eric DiCarlo (Atilla, Fit for an Autopsy, Emmure), captures American Dream Machine in action.
